“Looking for the one for you is like looking at 10,000 roses – you gotta look for the one that stands out.”

Fresh air, cool wind, beautiful view, and a sight of 10,000 roses.

The 10,000 Roses Café just opened in Cordova, about an hour away from Cebu City, becoming a huge attraction to people having hundreds of locals and tourists visiting everyday.

For a fee of only 20PHP, you’d be able to witness it all. The café itself is located at the back of the line of white artificial roses, that lights up at night, making people stop in the middle and take photos before reaching it.

The food there costs for about 200-300PHP while the hot and cold drinks cost about 100-200 PHP. 

The back of the café is the perfect spot for you to chill as you’d be facing the wide ocean and a far sight of the cities of Cebu from Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, Cebu City, and even up to the south road properties with the sight of the SM Seaside. For people like me who loves those kind views and ambience, you’d want to be there everyday.

The perfect time to go there would be around 16:00 to 18:00 since it won’t be too sunny plus you get to see the beautiful sunset and witness the glowing of the roses.

Thinking of a place where to eat dinner? Lantaw Restaurant, or as what they call the “floating restaurant”, is just nearby. If you’re in to seafood and other food that you’d enjoy eating in that ambience, you’re in the right place. With the view of the ocean, the cities in a different island, the sight of 10,000 roses glowing, and having very affordable and really good food, you’d definitely love it there.

How to get to the Café & the Restaurant?

• Cab – it will cost you about 250-300PHP for a cab from Ayala Center Cebu.

• Van & Bike – you can ride a van from SM City Cebu going to Cordova then take a habal-habal (motorbike) going to the café. The van will cost you about 35PHP and the bike for about 20PHP. 

It will take an hour or more for you to get there so I suggest you go on the weekdays instead of the weekends.

Finding a cab especially at night is almost impossible where some people will just hire a cab with a fixed rate that will take them back and forth to the city. In my case, we went for the cab going to Cordova and the van & bike back to the city.

I guess I found another great place to visit here in Cebu. It may be a little far from the city but I’ll definitely schedule going there again next time.
